‘The Man In Black – Dale Earnhardt & Johnny Cash Tribute Stilo Helmet’

The client came to us with a real challenge for this helmet.  Not only did they want two portraits, the rest of the brief for colours was ‘black’ and it was a surprise present for a 40th Birthday.  No pressure then…

The inspiration for this helmet came from a T-Shirt, based on the limited edition diecast Chevy Monte Carlo (1:24 scale) to commemorate Dale Earnhardt Snr and one of his hero’s Johnny Cash.

Needing this to be a complete surprise, we provided the Stilo Helmet – ST5 F Carbon Race Helmet – too, which made the process smoother for the client.

With the colour scheme being monochrome, and wanting to make the most of the carbon fibre on the helmet, this isn’t the most eyecatching design at first glance.  However, take a good look as you will find many different details and ‘hidden’ suprises that become apparent as you take in the design.

We have been informed that the recipient of this helmet was over the moon with their custom painted Stilo Helmet birthday present and keen to get some track time in it at the next round of racing…
