HELMET DESIGN
X-Paint is a specialist in the supply and design of custom painted crash helmets. We can take your ideas and turn them into reality, all we need is some information from you such as colours, logo’s and artwork.
It all starts with the design, feel free to download our template and use it in order to send us some rough designs. You can also send us logo’s and artwork in a .jpeg, .png, .ai or .psd format.
If you have seen designs that you like or have favourite riders that you would like to replicate then please let us know. We aim to please within reason, copyright can be an issue and there are certain logo’s and brands that we are not authorised to use.
We look forward to working with you on your next helmet design.
How to Use the Template
1. Download the template Grab our printable helmet outline below. It’s a flat, front-and-side view of a standard shell — perfect for sketching your ideas.
2. Sketch your design Doesn’t matter if you can’t draw. Rough shapes, colour blocks and notes are more than enough. We’ve built full designs from a five-minute scribble before.
3. Send it back to us Photograph or scan your sketch and send it back alongside any reference pictures or art files of things that have inspired you — designs you love, riders you admire, a colour scheme you’ve spotted somewhere. Combining your sketch with real references gives us the clearest possible picture of where you want to end up.
This can include:
- Reference images of designs or riders you like
- Logos or artwork files (.jpeg, .png, .ai or .psd)
- Specific colours, sponsors or numbers you need included
4. We’ll build on it Once we’ve got your sketch and references, we’ll work up a proper design direction and talk you through it before anything goes near paint.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Copyright and logos — We’re always happy to take inspiration from designs you love or riders you admire, but certain logos and brand marks aren’t ours to use without authorisation. If in doubt, ask us — we’ll always tell you straight whether something is possible.
No drawing skills required — The template exists to capture ideas, not to test your artistic ability. A rough scribble with notes works just as well as a polished sketch.
Every project still gets a full consultation — The template is a starting point, not the finished brief. We’ll talk through your design properly before any work is booked in.
