Noah Cosby Team BRIT

‘Kintsugi (golden joinery) – the Japanese Art of using gold to mend broken pottery to create something stonger and more beautiful than it was before ‘

When an enquiry came through for a pottery inspired custom painted helmet, we were intrigued… and as we read through the brief, it became clear that Noah Cosby had come up with one of the most unique and interesting projects in the X-Paint portfolio…

The initial brief was for a blue and white pottery pattern, with a Chinese style dragon (often seen on traditional fine china) and gold ‘cracks’ to symbolise Kintsugi.  The only other important feature was that the Sponsor’s Logo must be incorporated clearly in the design.

The rest was left up to us…  So we set about learning a lot more about china/pottery patterns and glazing than we ever thought we would.  And there was a lot of technical elements and techniques that had to be used for this project too.

Noah is a Driver for the Team BRIT Racing Team and also is an Ambassador for the Motability Scheme who are his main sponsor, and competes in the Britcar Trophy Championship!  A first for X-Paint, they did a live reveal of the helmet which you can see here :

With such a clever design idea and the freedom to create a completely unique piece, we think that Noah Cosby will really stand out on the grid!  We can’t wait to get some action shots and see it next to some trophies!
