‘X-Paint recently completed this design for jay pearson.

Local kart racer Jay Pearson wanted a striking design on his Arai SK6. Jay races across in the UK and has been enjoying some good success. Having used X-Paint before Jay knew the process and came to us with a collection of ideas, a list of colours and logo designs. He then gave us a relatively freehand to create something based on his preferences.

We started with a very bright flat orange base coat, it is not a neon so will never suffer from UV fade, we think it is a striking colour. We included a lot of pin striping, overlays and fades on this design.

Everything on the helmet is either painted or airbrushed we don’t use any decals in our paintwork, we stick to old school custom paint techniques. So there was a fair bit of masking involved in this design

As with all our designs we focussed on Jay’s job from start to finish, we don’t run a production line each helmet takes up 100% of our focus for the duration of the work required.
