Leaving the original carbon exposed on a design does make the job slightly more difficult than working over my own base coat. I think it was worth the effort on this owl design that was recently completed for Ian in the UK.

We came up with an owl design as it worked with Ian’s surname. From there we wanted to keep the helmet in quite a simple but striking design. I used candy apple red over coarse aluminium base coat. It should really sparkle when the sun hits it.

Everything on the helmet is either painted or airbrushed we don’t use any decals in our paintwork, we stick to old school custom paint techniques. So there was a fair bit of masking and airbrushing involved in this design. Murals do take slightly longer but if you are looking for something special we are more than happy to do them.

As with all our designs we focussed on this job from start to finish, we don’t run a production line each helmet takes up 100% of our focus for the duration of the work required.
