‘The customer supplied his own design, we played with the colours a bit’

A lot of the time we just get a few ideas from the customer, have a telephone chat, come up with an idea and crack on with the paintwork whilst posting the progress to our stories on instagram.

Design:

Very rarely do I work to a design or visuals, sure we can do that for you but it is a service that we subcontract and it is an extra cost, it can also delay the process slightly.

To be completely honest our approach to painting is somewhat dated and involves a reasonable amount of trust….. a lot of trust. As much as a descriptive idea gives the customer an idea of what they are getting they dont really know until they see it. Neither do I if I am being completely honest as most of my best ideas come to me half way through the project, it’s just how I work creatively. But so far so good, my customers are really enjoying the “surprises” and watching it all unfold on the gram. And I am getting a great kick out of it.

We know the system needs to change, we know a design process is neccessary especially for teams and corprates, so we do have a designer on the team and will be luanching a page dedicated to in house design very soon.

So when Charlie came to us with a job and a full set of design visuals it made a bit of a change. He did give us some freedom with colours and as usual I took full advantage of that.
